Building Mastery in Thoughts and Thinking
Facilitator: Victoria Mitchell

Do you ever find your mind doing things that you wish it wouldn’t? Does it say mean things, keep you up at night, or spend too much time reviewing the past and worrying about the future?
This workshop draws from Cognitive Behavioural Theory, parts work, and yogic philosophy to support you in becoming a clear and compassionate leader to the part of you that thinks.
Through discussion, experiential practice, and guided meditation, this session covers the anatomy of thoughts and the foundational skills needed to manage them. We will look beneath the surface to understand what your mind is trying to do, practice creating new direction, and work on responding to it in a way that will help it help you.
Participants are encouraged to bring a yoga mat, and those who enjoy writing may bring a notebook and pen if they wish. Handouts will be provided.
This event is led by a Registered Psychologist as part of a series created to make the knowledge, practice, and skills-based components of therapy more accessible. It is a hybrid of workshop and group therapy, and qualifies for reimbursement under most health insurance plans.
About Victoria:
Victoria began her wellness career as an RMT in a beautiful hotel spa. Here, she gained firsthand experience in the transformative power of just one hour in a safe, compassionate space. She became a registered clinical counsellor in 2017 and has been building and fine-tuning her practice ever since. Taken together, her experience as an RMT, counsellor, and psychologist amounts to 17 wonderful years of creating safe spaces, facilitating healing, and working hard alongside clients to achieve their goals.
She is working towards a world where everyone has what they need to manage their inner world competently and compassionately, and to live in connection with their communities and supportive allies-- human, animal, plant, and beyond. She currently pursues this goal through individual therapy and community workshops
