About us

Our Story

A studio built slowly, on
purpose,
by people who
practice here too.

Yoga Passage started in a single rented room on 11 Ave with six mats and a borrowed sound system. What we couldn’t afford in equipment, we made up for in attention — knowing names, noticing when someone needed a modification before they asked.

A decade later, the room is bigger, but the intention hasn’t changed. Every class is still taught by someone who trained here, and every new teacher spends a season simply practicing before they’re handed a mic.

WHAT WE STAND FOR

The values behind
every class we teach.

Real Attention

Small class sizes and teachers who remember your name — and your bad knee — aren't a perk here, they're the whole point.

Honest Teaching

We train our own instructors and hold them to a standard: teach what you practice, and never fake a cue you haven't tested on your own mat.

I took both the 200hr & 300hr teacher trainings through passage and I can’t speak highly enough of the teachers facilitating those trainings. Kristin, Jeff and Tracy collectively bring an immense amount of experience and knowledge to the program. Not only has my personal practice evolved since the trainings, but I’ve grown as a person and have been teaching nonstop since. So in every aspect the programs have provided what I set out for. Kristin also did exceptionally to seek out teachers for the 300hr and I think that the breadth and depth of the curriculum I experienced there really is what sets this course apart from others. Finally as a studio holding regularly scheduled classes , passage is a sanctuary. From the communal space to the classrooms and the facilities, I get a very warm and welcoming vibe just being there. The variety of classes is rich and all the teachers are excellent. In all ways passage excels and I’m grateful for it.

I completed my 200hr YTT back in 2019 here and I have to say I haven’t met any other yoga studio quite like Passage. It truly is a sanctuary hidden within the concrete jungles. The studio is not just about yoga but about creating a community which supports your journey, meeting you wherever you are in life. Classes are diverse, and taught by those who are well experienced and passionate. Give it a try and you won’t be disappointed

Took my first class at Yoga Passage today and was genuinely blown away. I’ve practiced hot yoga before, but this was a completely different experience. The energy in the room, the instruction, and the overall atmosphere were exceptional. I took Eddy’s class, and it struck the perfect balance of challenge, intensity, and mindfulness. The studio feels welcoming, professional, and deeply rooted in the practice of yoga rather than just the workout aspect. I left feeling stronger, clearer, and already looking forward to my next class. If you’re considering trying Yoga Passage, do it. It exceeded every expectation.

I’ve been going to yoga passage since a month now. What i like most about the studio is its trainers. They are all very good and have their own different styles yet they are consistent so it’s exciting to attend each of their class with a new expectation. Totally love the rooms, props and atmosphere of the rooms in the sessions. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I came across Yoga Passage through friends in the yoga community and I’m so glad I did! It is a humble space with the kind of authenticity that I had been looking for and never finding in other studios My experience in the 200hr YTT completely elevated my understanding of this practice and philosophy. It was so much more than just learning how to teach physical asana classes. The depth of the curriculum and commitment of the other seekers involved opened my mind to what it means to truly honour the sacred lineage of yoga and to live it off my mat. I highly recommend this in-person offering to anyone who is wondering what it may be like to go deeper into their practice and find community in a way that attending classes cannot!

I had a classpass offer and tried out a lot of yoga options in the beltline, but knew I was ultimately going to get the trial membership here because they do monthly classes at my apartment building. I enjoyed their classes at my apartment complex, but hadn’t yet been to their studio. I got the three week intro offer and I was genuinely impressed! I think the studio is super cozy with massive rooms. They have a ton of candles and incense, and it feels like more than “just a workout studio”. It actually felt like the intention is there to connect a little. So color me pleasantly surprised when I had the best class overall of all of the studios I had tried over the last 2 weeks! Every instructor has been phenomenal, I enjoy each of their energies and approaches. Also flipping adored the somatic classes!!! I was 50/50 on if I would get a full membership past the three week trial but I’ve been 3x a week since I got the trial, I just really enjoy it there!
